Hello everyone!
I have tried taking the NCLEX 4 times, and failed all 4 of them. I graduated 2 years back -- some say this may be the reason why I failed. My first attempt was 7 months after my graduation. The only difference was I was taking care of two kids -- one a toddler and one infant. But, I know there are a lot of other nurses who have been taking care of kids and home and still passing NCLEX the first time. I try my best to give the most time studying for the test, but I don't know what's going wrong. Can anyone suggest me anything? I am frustrated and really can't decide if I should try again. I feel like a big failure!

Someone suggested to me long time ago about readytopass.com, but I didn't have enough time to try it. Has anyone tried it? How is the program? Do you think it's worth taking the chance and try them out? I was just little curious about the fact they review contents and provide individual tutoring.

Any advice/support will be appreciated. Thanks!

I failed my first time 190 questions and passed on my second time with only 75 questions. I recommend doing Suzanne's Plan which you can find on this website under nclex discussion forum. Her plan was really helpful and her passing rate is very high. The plan is free, all you have to do is put in the study time. I also did the learning extension site (NCSBN? I think). I did this to practice questions. I feel that doing as many questions and reviewing the rationales behind them helped out alot because it shows what subject I was weak on.

Please contact the school from which you graduated. They happily took your tuition money for 2-4 years, assessed your skills and knowledge base as adequate for graduation, and I believe they should be motivated to assist you in passing NCLEX. Every time you take the test and fail, it hurts their statistics.

Perhaps there is an instructor there who would be willing to help you assess your strengths and weaknesses, (Do you lack basic knowledge? Are you unable to prioritize? Do you experience test anxiety that interferes with your ability to pass NCLEX?) and help you devise a strategy to study and pass NCLEX.

If you type in Nclex study tips you will find so many posts on this same topic. I think the main theme in evey tip is quantity in questions. I dont think you can go wrong in doing as many practice questions as you can humanly fit in a day!!!

Love the logic behind contacting your former school, the school I graduated from does in fact have a team of teachers that volunteer their time to assist in helping those who have failed pass the 2nd time around. Give them a call.

I just found out i passed today (my third time)

what i cam to realize is and what i want you to know

its NOT you..its this dumb test. Realize that and you wont be so hard on yourself. DONT be, you are not a failure !!

Did i All of a sudden become this super nurse because i passed the nCLEX ?? NO-i just "figured" out HOW to take the test. period.

you know enough--review content, to brush up-dont kill yourself like i first did-when you feel you are 'ready" take the test

try focusing on HOW to take the test-use Kaplan, -never give up--I almost did several times, really---but i didnt want to end with "them" winning.--its the TEST not you.

Thanks to all of you who replied! Your encouragement means a lot -- really means a lot when I feel so down right now. My school doesn't really have any program to help for NCLEX, but of course, I can try asking if any teacher can help me guide through the content to find out what's going wrong. I recently found out there is a program to assist with NCLEX in Drexel University web site. Has anyone used it?
