Advice greatly appreciated re NCLEX

I am a English nurse who hopefully will be relocating to the States (providing I pass the NCLEX) I will be taking the exam in May, and wondered if anyone out there can offer any advice on this exam. I have got the books, on line practice discs etc, but I guess its nothing like the real thing. Is there anyone out there who found the actually exam harder than the practice discs etc (or easier)? Any good tips, advice would be greatly appreciated. I really need to pass the exam first time round

Hi cheeca. I am a foreign educated nurse too and took the NCLEX and passed in March. You have a chance because your primary language is English. Anyways, I found Saunders questions easier and Kaplan questions harder than the NCLEX. Saunders is better for the content and Kaplan is better for questions. But this is just my opinion. I hope this helps.

Thanks Fero. much appreciated. I have been working from the Kaplan 2005-2006 Edition book, and from the practice question disc that came with it. I did the disc exam yesterday and got 125 qiuuestion correct out of 180, so do you think that would be a pass on the real test? I certainly hope so. If on the real test day, the question are similar and on the same lines as the disc, then I think I will be OK.
