75 usually a good sign???

So...I took my NCLEX this morning..shut off at 75. Is this generally a good thing? Know of anyone failing after 75? I did tons of q's to prepare, and can say that I know I got 2 right. Ugh---don't know how I'm gonna deal with waiting for results!! I try to keep thinking positive, I never failed in school and passed the HESI (our exit exam) the first time--which supposedly means you could pass nclex. So--hopefully I won't start failing now.

Re: 75 usually a good sign???

It's a very good sign. Of course people pass and fail at every number between 75 and 265, but your ODDS of passing are considerable. In order to fail at 75, you would have to do quite poorly, so poorly that the computer has deemed, to a 95% certainty, that giving you more questions won't improve your chances of meeting the passing standard.

If you did lots of questions to prepare and were a good student, your chances are excellent. No guarantees in this world, but it's looking good!

Good luck and the wait is the worst!!! Keep busy and stay positive. There isn't anything you can do change anything, so just TRY to relax. The opportive word is "TRY". I found that difficult!!! LOL

Re: 75 usually a good sign???

If it is any consolation I had 75 questions and passed. I failed the Hesi test the first time by about 4 questions. Then passed a second time. Have faith you passed
