265 Questions...please Someone Help Me!

I took the NCLEX-RN yesterday morning and i had 265 questions! i could not believe it...i really felt like i was doing well....the first 75 questions seemed to be identical to my PN boards which shut off at 85...but it just kept going and going and going...everything started to get blurry, the questions kept getting harder and harder...i didnt take a break because i was sure it was going to shut off soon...it took me 4 hours....i could hardly walk out of the testing center...i bawled all the way home....does anyone have any words of advice? please calm me down...im a nervous wreck!

You gave your best effort and you should be proud of yourself. The hard part is the waiting... Many people left the testing center feeling like "failures" to find out that they passed. Either way keep your head up and don't lose hope. Best wishes! Keep us posted!

You are being too hard on yourself. It seems like ealot of people feel this way after testing. I think if the test seeme harder, you were probably getting more higher level questions, which is a positive sign!!

Relax, I know easier said than done, but just wait for your results. Keep us posted when you find out. Don't think negative, stay positive!

Re: 265 Questions...please Someone Help Me!

First off welcome to allnurses!!!
Second, some people say that if you reach 265 questions that it is close to passing or atleast you knew alot of the information. look at some other posts, with 265 questions, they explain it. Everyone says they feel like they didn't pass and ends up they did! Best of luck to you, how long do you have to wait for your results? We are here for you!

Re: 265 Questions...please Someone Help Me!

Hang in there. Easier said than done I know. I had 265 also and felt the same as you did in my first 75. I was really shocked I had all of them!!! But, I passed in the end. And think about this..... out of ALL the people that take Nclex over 85% of them pass (per info i read on the Pearson website or the BON) and most people only answer 50% of the questions they get correctly (again, per info I read on Pearson or the BON) and still pass. Wish I would have read that BEFORE I took my boards! It also said that very few people answer 75% or more of the questions correctly. You will be alright. hope I helped a little bit. good luck.

Hang in there!
