April 23, 2007 - 11:11PM
Yuma Regional Medical Center projects that it will need to hire 1,317 nurses during the next eight years to meet growth demands, said Sharon Gardner, vice president of human resources at YRMC.
Much of YRMC's plans to recruit nurses hinges on if it can prove to local college officials that there is enough interest to warrant program expansions at Arizona Western College and Northern Arizona University-Yuma, according to local hospital officials. Bluehair..open the link and type in "nurses" or Yuma needs nurses in the search on the top...The Yuma Sun is the local paper so the articles have changed. I posted the whole article but it was edited by the moderators?

I'm sure it has a little more to do with it's location than just with instructors....

I worked at YRMC, this past winter as a "Seasonal Nurse"...GREAT people to work with, extremely busy ER, but I will return next season. It would be helpful if you are considering this opportunity to know some Spanish...very high Hispanic population, although the hospital employs intrepretors who do a great job!!

Hi,
I would love to hear more about your seasonal experiences at YRMC. I've considered doing something like that and it looked like there was some flexibility with assignment lengths. I've only passed through Yuma when we lived in Sierra Vista and would drive out to San Diego. Do you work somewhere else besides YRMC and, if so, how do you make that work? Thanks so much!
