I'm pretty disturbed by the news. However, I think people do overreact, and the story/article should not have been so exploited. The situation could have been handled behind closed doors.
Though, I can definitely see where sexual harassment and perhaps... "battery" comes to mind.
There's a reason why nurses are better than doctors (snide remark, not meant to offend or be boisterous - all fun.)

hmmm
I scrubbed for one Doc, that insisted on marking the femoral artery (with
a dadgum black sharpie) just prior to final prep for cardiac caths..
He would actually draw several arrows pointing to his spot, from different
directions..quite the perfectionist.
I don't recall any of them getting too bent, but that may have been the Versed.
On another note, if my wife came out of surgery with even a temporary tattoo, I'd
gig the doctor to the board..no doubt.

The ortho surgeries are marked by X's drawn by a black sharpie at the hospital that I work at.
I thought it was normal?

If a hospital employee had done it, you can almost be certain it would have been handled by risk management, as you say, behind closed doors.
If what she wanted was money (as if it was anything else) she would have been better off leaving the lawyer and his 33/40% cut out of the picture..some people get cash blind.

Ya know what, it is B.S. to assume what she wants is money. Dignity would be nice. Look, I told the docs who pulled some crap on me in violation of informed consent and raising to the level of battery; just tell me the truth and the whole truth. They continued to lie; knowing I was investigating my records. Guess they just assumed I was too stupid to figure it out. Point, is I told them, "Tell me the truth and I will not file a lawsuit." They kept lying; I filed a lawsuit. I will get no money out of it, I am sure; it is the truth and publication of that truth that I am after. But, if taking money will serve to punish these evil, yes evil and greedy people; I am sure I can and will do more socially constructive things with the money than they are doing with the money. So, guilt. No sir. No guilt, just a hell of a lot of anger. Get it, anger. The assumption of greed may say more about yourself than about women who file these lawsuits. You and I both know many women would not like this tatto business or what it implies.
