Ten years ago today, the FDA approved Viagra. It, and its wannabe competitors Levitra and Cialis have proven effective in some cases of female sexual dysfunction, and are being used more and more to treat various circulatory diseases.
It's true that Viagra's discoverer won a Nobel Prize, but it wasn't because of the sex thing. It was because of increased knowledge of the nitric oxide cycle, which is believed to play a role in cancer, strokes, Alzheimer's, and the aging process in general
