Florida hospital patients get less than the national average amount of care from nurses due to a staffing shortage, according to a new study by Florida's largest nursing union. According to the SEIU Florida Healthcare Union, Florida hospitals provided an average of 7.3 hours of nursing care per inpatient day compared with the national average of nine hours.
