After picketing their employer for 18 weeks, registered nurses at Lourdes Medical Center here may get their jobs back with back pay and benefits.
The union representing the nurses - JNESO - is calling a state arbitrator's decision, released Monday, a "big win." "The shifts shall be changed back to those that were in effect on Oct. 25, 2003," federal arbitrator Gerard G. Restaino said in a written ruling. "All affected employees shall be made whole for any lost wages and/or contractual benefits such as, but not limited to health insurance."
