The ultimate gift: 50 years of organ transplants

The first successful organ transplant took place on Dec. 23, 1954. Over the last five decades, surgeons have learned how to transplant virtually every vital organ in the human body.

Yep-ain't it great! I'm an RN recipient of two organs (two corneas). I even thought of applying to a Transplant Coordinator position (I've had 10 years of crit care experience "way back".) But then again, I believe you need the energy of a twenty five year old with the wisdom of a "70" year old nurse to do this work. Again, thanks for your post!
