Re: UK - Fury as student nurses told there are no jobs for them

With the way things are happening now in America, I won't be surprised, if one those screw balls in Congress, all of sudden decides to import Chinese or Mexican nurses by the thousands with lower wages and better working conditions, and start employing them all around the country. Especially with that new guest working visa, that President Bush, has been trying to get approved in Congress. To me, this is just another smoke screen, that is going to take America by surprise, and eventually force alot of nurses in America to retire, and put alot of them on welfare. That is of course, if you don't fall asleep, and do something soon, like real pronto. But knowing well about the history and the secret agenda of Corporate America, you well probably once again be manipulated into beliving that is the right path to take, and before you know it, most of you will be working as cheap labor.
So wake up America.

Re: UK - Fury as student nurses told there are no jobs for them

AS a nursing student, i am worried that i wont be able to get a job at the end of my training but there are reasons for it. the NHS is going under a massive change. a lot of work is going to be shifted within the primary (Community care). As with everything, change within such a large organisation is hard and it has its problems while going through that change. what some people dont understand is that before this problem, jobs used to be easy to find. but with the changes and cash strapped trusts, it is up to the student to get the best grades and experience and qualify with a degree as compared to a Diploma although the starting pay is the same. it is all about competition. just think for a change that the employer is more likely to employ a BSC hons graduate compared to a Diploma graduate as it gives them less to pay for the upgrade of their degree to BSC and the chances are more that the bsc graduate will climb up the career ladder faster.
These are my views people may not agree to it. it is up to them to think what they want to do. i probably will look into moving anywhere where the oppurtunities are.

This is what nationalized healthcare will do to RN jobs in America.

As if that will ever happen in the U.S. Too much profit in healthcare and politicians from both parties will protect those profits.
