Wow...So far, what, if anything, is being done to fix the situation? This problem is rapidly affecting alot of other states in the southwest and elsewhere since so many individuals are moving from larger cities to smaller cities/towns in the US.

I think one answer would be to have clinics operated by nurse pratitioners that were backed by the State or Federarl Govt. People without insurance flood the ED for non-trauma situations that are "emergency" to them. But these clinics would not be able to support themselves due to the indigent patients. THey have to go somewhere for care--------------------

As hard core as I am against illegal immigration (eventually they will need all the entitlements of Medicaid, Social Security, etc. draining the system, blah, blah), I cannot stomach denying acute health care. Cities located near borders should have hospitals where they go in the American side and come out on the Mexican side. No babies born there will would be American citizens. I work with a very diverse group of people and all patiently waited for their turn to come in. Most illegals now are young, healthy and hard-working (but that doesn't mean they should be here). However, eventually they're gonna break down like the rest of us and then the entitlement system will come tumbling down.

perhaps we could have some clinics set up on that the other side of the border
get some volunteers/students who can help, perhaps divide it inot tow parts one for walk ins and one part for scheduled appts
the only thing that will change the status of babies who ae born here is for a consti
admendent because the constitution is what dictates this
