Teens face charges for promoting obscenity
The Hutchinson News

"Two former employees of a South Hutchinson nursing home face identical charges of promoting obscenity after allegations that the women used a cell phone camera to take photographs of an 83-year-old woman's genitals."

It shames me to say that these girls are from my city. Any act that takes advantage of the helpless makes me sick! I hope they learn their lessons, but it looks like they will only get a slap on the hands.

That is just plain... wrong, sick, disgusting!!! So many words that cannot describe what those girls did to that poor woman!! WHY would any one do that?! Just another reason why I think that they should have more extensive qualifications for CNA's.

Re: Teen CNA's Face Obscenity Charges

They should be slapped with every criminal charge possible. They should also have permanent records that would bar them from ever being licensed nurses.

I don't care if they were just teenagers. We do not need people like this in nursing.

i hope, but don't seriouly believe, that this would prevent these women from going to lpn/rn education

we don't need these kind of people

three cheers for the fellow employee who reported them and to the nh who did not try to cover it up

Re: Teen CNA's Face Obscenity Charges

I will say that from anything I have ever heard, this is a very reputable ltc. I have only heard good things previously. Definitely, hats off to the management who did the right thing by this resident and the rest of the residents.

I just look at the situation from the eyes of a person who has a grandmother with dementia and will eventually need ltc. If anyone did this to my grandma...

and to think a mere slap of the hand is the worst of their punishment.
this is appalling and unconscionable.
how do you suppose they would react to being visually raped?

What about hippa and vunerable adult laws. There has to be something with those that they can charge these people with! Disgusting!

These two are lucky that our legislation is lagging behind our technology. Something tells me thanks to their total lack of regard for human decency, a new law will be covering the use of picture phones in LTC. Let us hope, anyway. I certainly hope that they're banned for life from any sort of healthcare position.

Re: Teen CNA's Face Obscenity Charges

This story is disturbing. Too bad they won't get jail time. Hopefully they'll never work as CNAs again. Kudos to their employer for being so quick about alerting the authorities and the patient's family and not attempting to keep it quiet.

This is why I think ALL health care facilities should prohibit employees from bringing ANY type of camera into work. Got a cell phone or PDA with a camera built in? Leave it at home. Some work places already have these rules.
