I am sure there will be a lawsuit against the facility, which will probably settle, but that sure isn't going to teach these girls a lesson.
You are so right, they should have a lawsuit filed against them. I also don't think its fair for the facility to have to go through a lawsuit and settle because of their stupidity. If I were the facility, I would sue the girls myself. Obviously, as healthcare providers (CNAs) they should be more cognizant of the dignity of their patients. Plus, every facility has mandatory orientation for new hires and they go over regulations so clear that even the ignorant would understand. That's should be enough to support the facility's position against the girls & the suit should be for the amount that the facility has to pay out to the family.

Re: Teen CNA's Face Obscenity Charges

My very, very, first question would be, how were these girls brought up? What kind of homes did they come from? I just can't imagine what enjoyment or whatever they get from things like this. This is far from ordinary "teen" pranks. It is sick, and they are sick, and are a lot likely to go on to commit more serious offenses.

These were not "young, silly teens". These were young adults. The media likes to say "teens" when it suits, such as something like this. More sensational, I suppose. But then it says "young women" or "young men" when it suits as well.

An 18 year old can be called by our government to a foreign land to engage in hand-to-hand combat and die in pieces in a mud puddle. Is this also a "young, silly teen"??

We owe the young ADULTS of our society a helluva lot more than brushing THIS kind of atrocity under the rug of Immature Silliness. Unconscionable.
It's a shame the way the media gets away with such manipulating of the news. I wonder if some of the media might be getting a little kick out the way they portray "journalism."

When an 18 or 19 year old person does something incredibly stupid and against the law, we very frequently hear "teen". When the same-aged person is engaged in the ordinary activities of life, we hear "young adult", etc. A "teen" implies a minor, a juvenile not accountable for their actions.

For instance, it's 18 year old "teens" who committed this very adult crime, yet if they were being held up for a merit award, they'd be described as "young women".

In my local paper recently, a "teenager with a gun" shot someone. He was 19 years old. Not 13. When was the last time you heard about a "local teen" who was carted home from war in a box? No, he's not a "teen" even though he's at least a year younger than the "teenager with a gun". He's a young man.

Just bugs me, I guess, how our media's bias runs--and perhaps might just be a societal reason for some of this garbage we see. They're not accountable, they were just foolish kids, "teens".
Good for you. You are a very go example of what a human being should be.

Re: Teen CNA's Face Obscenity Charges

This is so awful! I bet it happens all the time, these facilities are everywhere and it's hard to find decent people to work for them. There are alot of disturbed people out there unfortunately
