Horrifying, to say the least.

This is just what I wanted to read. My husband goes in for a radical nephrectomy this coming Monday.

Geez.....

Re: Surgeon removes healthy kidney from pt. instead of cancerous kidney...

While searching for articles on this topic, I read that the patient has decided to continue their care at the same hospital where the incident took place.

I'm not quite sure I'd feel confident in the care I'd be receiving at that point.

I think I would maybe find a different health care provider. Even though we all make mistakes, there are some mistakes that are simply too damaging to overlook.

What do you all think of that???

Um, how about the informed consent order? What did it say?
Don't you think someone would catch it? Sounds like a total system meltdown. So sad and tragic.
