Carol DeRycke started working for Monroe County four years ago, but she’s unemployed today because she is one of the 78 nurses and support staffers who lost their jobs Wednesday.
DeRycke, 42, of Perinton, has been a registered nurse for 17 years, but went to work with the county because she loves helping kids. She was assigned to two elementary schools, Nos. 12 and 23 in southeast Rochester.
