If they don't do their jobs correctly they can also cause homes electrical fires to start. They deserve to be paid well. Plumbers may not have lives in their hands, but they have a disgusting job than most people don't want. Maybe they are overpaid in comparison to nursing because they aren't saving lives, but still, they again, deserve to be paid well. Nurses deserve a salary more in line with those professions, but they work hard and deserve their money as well.
Okay, I think we do need to compare.
My uncle is an electrician at one of the Auto companies. He is being paid to use the knowledge he obtained through his schooling. He gets paid well, He explained to me, he only has to SHOW UP, if something occur, he fix the problem. Brain work. I have a BSN & I was taught I am a PROFESSIONAL just like my uncle who is an electrician. The difference is he is in a MALE career.
NURSES are responsible for LIFE, if they mess up, (which they do because of the heavy assignments according to research) PEOPLE DIE, GET SICKER & have LONGER HOSPITAL STAY. What part of nursing are you in, did you actually get pass cleaning up poo & vomit. If the axillary staff don't do it, it's the nurses responsibility.
My husband works with plumbing, he don't even turn his nose up with poo or vomit or even the spell of death, which I still do. He's not responsible for any form of LIFE.
I hope I didn't offend you in any way. Nurses thoughts should be, 'we are as important if not more important as a career as other profession'.
