Nursing grads asked to serve country first before working abroad(Philippines)

Anticipating a shortage of health care providers in the country as the exodus of nurses and doctors-turned-nurses continue to rise, a government doctor appealed to fresh nursing graduates to serve the country at least two years before entertaining the idea of working abroad.

I think this is the way it should be. Other countries are experiencing a shortage and these nurses need to fight and negotiate for better working conditions to improve.

The way working conditions are there, I can't blame them a bit, looking elsewhere for work/oppourtunity. I hear of too many Filipino nurses and doctors NOT being able TO secure ANY position, much less "Fight" for their rights as nurses---and effect much in the way of change in their Republic's healthcare delivery.

There is way too much corruption in government everywhere, and no place is it more apparent than in their government.

It's True on what happening over there, there is too much corruption and the Nurses in the Phil. are way underpaid they are not even earning $1000.00 a month or i would say you are lucky to have that kind of salary and maybe a Administrative position. It's Sad but it's true,Phil. Nurse grads( BSN grad) are not applying job in Phil. after they graduated , they are applying abroad. ask them and they will say, there is much future for their love ones and can expand their knowledge abroad.
