What is wrong with hospial scrubs with the hospital name on them and your name tag showing your name and credentials on it. I am an RN and I work on a surgical, telemetry, stepdown unit. Most of us wear hospital scrubs and are taken very seriously, especially if you have your name tag on, we do have some CNA's that wear hospital scrubs without a name tag and pt's think they are doctors and RN's instead of nsg. assistants, that can be confusing.
But I always introduce myself to my pt. at the beginning of the shift, I don't have any problems with it. I think all medical staff no matter who they are, should always introducee your self to the pt. Name tags really help, I have pt's hold mine and they read it.
