I haven't heard of any staff romantic liasons at the hospital; however, one nurse did walk in on her 17 year old female patient giving her boyfriend some oral satisfaction one day. Told her that this isn't the place for that and her room door stays open from now on.

Marikat534 said, "She goes to lunch and meets the male nurse, he laughs and cheers her up a little. Builds up her confidence, etc.
Goes back and day goes meets different staff and variety of the patients.
Then Paramedic comes to transport a pt home or ER nurse brings a patient up. (the love interest)"
You have my vote, Marikat. I'll watch it. But, let the male nurse get the girl, instead of the paramedic. A little self serving? Oh, just a tad, perhaps.

my pet peeve??!!?? not sometimes ,not frequently but EVERY TIME someone is put on or comes in with a 100% non-rebreather on, THE BLOODY BAG IS AS FLAT AS A PANCAKE!!!! this is what happens when producers allow m.d.'s instead of nurses to be the professional advisers on their shows!

It's not that people aren't smart enough these days to get it. People these days just don't care and it has become all about me, me, me, me!
Many have no shame or morals.

Heck, something must be wrong with me! I'm not even sure if we have a storage room, let alone where it is and who's using it today!

Leaving aside the lack of time and the sheer ugh! factor, in real life there's not a lot of scope for privacy. The best bet for a romantic retreat where I work would be the resident's quarters but, as it's in a separate (though attached) building, and three floors away from my ward, with two security swipe doors to access, I think I'm out of luck!

I would think that the ability to suspend disbelief is central to the practice of nursing. The antics on these medical shows are often no less unrealistic than our administrators expectations of our patient care assignments or paperwork tollerance. Just because there is no Middle Earth dosen't mean I don't enjoy Frodos' victory any less!
It beats watching the cop shows where the guilty always go to trial and get convicted, the cops get off thier butts to do something besides give a parking ticket, and every crime is solved in 60min or less.

The bedrails bug me the most - where I work unconscious patients always have the rails up but never, ever in TV Land.

Oh,my gosh, YES ! This is the worst, and yet all of my lay people family and friends look at me like I'M nuts when I yell at the TV about it. Go figure.

Have you all watched the people in the background of these medical shows?
Just watch them......I get a kick out of that just because it looks so FAKE. There are dozens of people milling back and forth, walking across in the background. You KNOW that in a real life hospital there are not THAT many people milling around, up and down the halls, pushing carts and whatnot.
I wonder who is taking care of the patients......because it seems that all the employees are wandering around in the hallways on these medical shows.
