Nurse In Superbug Warning

'Conditions are so bad I'd never let my mother be admitted'

A nurse claims that conditions in Leeds Trust hospitals are so bad she would never let her mother be admitted.
The experienced staff nurse, who agreed to speak out on condition of anonymity because she still works for the trust, has worked for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for many years. And she claims the financial pressures currently facing the organisation are so acute that lives are being put at risk with the superbug MRSA now "just a fact of life."
And the trust, which runs Leeds General Infirmary and St James's, admitted that the Royal College of Nursing had also raised a concerns with management which the YEP understands centre on the impact which cash shortages are having on hospital staff.
