LOS ANGELES -- A registered nurse pleaded guilty and was sentenced to more than four years in prison for falsely billing Medicare for over $3 million in services.
In addition, Haydee Parungao failed to report $613,710 to the Internal Revenue Service, authorities said.
U.S. District Judge Dale S. Fischer also ordered Parungao to pay more than $3 million in restitution to Medicare and spend three years on supervised release after serving her prison sentence.
