Thank you for responding to my many questions. Yes, I did read the news article. It states she was "CHARGED. I could not get access to the "SBON of April 1, 2004." Nor was I able to reply to your post. I could go no further without getting out of the thread.

The thing that I find very chilling, is if a person is "charged," how many nurses already convicted her without having a trial. If she pleaded guilty at the April 1, 2004 with the SBON, I could understand a little bit more. However, if this nurse is already convicted by her peers, I can understand the nursing shortage. How horribly scary to know you can be accused and convicted if you have not had a trial.

I am not a bleeding heart. When I was a new nurse, I had a charge nurse "help me out by giving my demerol shots for me" and I was there when they arrested her. So I am not saying that she should not be held responsible if she is guilty of depriving a patient in pain of relief from that pain. I would be furious if this was withheld from me. I am not stupid, and I know whether I got pain relief or not.

With the many that have convicted her without a trial, I am totally appalled at how viscous and judgmental the number of nurses that judge without really knowing all the facts. We are all taught to assess and analyze and make a judgment. This is quite scary to me to be in presence of a nursing environment like this. I am also a nurse and in my mind, if they judge without investigation and facts, this is indeed frightening. I am also a consumer of health care and I generally trust the judgment of the nurses that care for me.

Can you give me the particulars on this board about the SBON on 4/1/2004 that I am not able to access?

Just saw this, and know not what it pertains to specifically.

But if stands for the proposition that soemone may be "judged" guilty before an appropriate legal forum has legitimately so found, then it really states nothing new or shocking.

Most people will presume that an accused did the deed. And they're usually right.
