Piqued by what he deemed to be a lack of cooperation by the management of the Memorial Medical Center here, the Louisiana attorney general has issued subpoenas for dozens of hospital employees as part of an investigation into accusations that patients might have been euthanized in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
A state investigation into whether critically ill patients were left to die or were euthanized at a New Orleans hospital during the chaotic aftermath of Hurricane Katrina is part of a probe into an estimated 215 deaths at nursing homes and hospitals across the area, according to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.

Hey what is really good, three N.M. detectives claim they saw a young woman murdered at Memorial. Problem is, no body has been found and no one else witnessed it. Something tells me, this is a whole lot of whooie about nothing. And that it will be found that all patients, who die, were not assisted in any manner.
If the NY Times article is correct, it seems to be a failure of the emergency generators. Not as big a news story as murder, but probably would lead to lawsuits against Tenet Healthcare, the owner of facility.
AND THE REST IS MEDIA HYPE, what ever happened to just reporting the news?
Yes, euthanasia is way more 'sexy' than ill patients dying because there were insufficient resources, power failure and... did I metion they were ill?!
