Interesting article. Read something the other day @ how Bird Flu was becoming epidemic in India & Bangladesh. Hope that doesn't jump and spread any further....

Re: late-evolving strains of flu spurring spread

we all had flu shots.....a girl at work just got tested for the same symptoms 4 of us had last week, 4 on our shift have it this week, we are all getting sick at work....had to work they only gave us 4 sick days...long story....anyway....at the Dr he asked if I had a flu shot last Monday, well yesssss I did....turns out my ear infection/sinus infection was probably from the influenza a....my friend who also had the flu shot got tested at her doctors office today....and guess what....? She has the flu....the shot isn't very effective this year.....everyone is coming down with it....we all thought it was from the dry cold air and we were just getting seasonal sinus infection junk.....how wrong we were....who knows how bad it;ll get.... I SAY MORE SICK DAYS>ESP if you work more hours than most pp......you are expected to be there a greater percentage of your life than weekenders....so your sick days should accomodate you, you know...>>>> for someone who gets 2 sinus infs a year and stomach junk.....plus they counted me sick the day my dad was dying.....GRRRRRR---I Wasnt sick....it was a family emergency ....ugh...sorry I am tired and have the flu....i think...

my mom had flu shot in fall as did I, when she got it she ended up in hospital for over week, she is 83 and has heart and lung problems, hospital admissions are up in Pittsburgh due to the ineffectiveness of the vaccine

Re: late-evolving strains of flu spurring spread

I work in the ER and the last couple of weeks, every person I test for influenza come back positive. I have even had a few patients be infected with both strains A and B at the same time.
