Last-minute deal averts nurse's strike

FREDERICTON - It went down to the wire but it appears a threatened strike by nurses at New Brunswick's 32 nursing homes has been averted.

The 430 registered nurses, who have been without a contract for 18 months, were set to walk out Wednesday morning.

However, negotiators were able to hammer out a tentative deal as bargaining continued overnight.
