Largest Online Nursing Community Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

allnurses.com press release

MINNEAPOLIS, April 10 -- It's how nurses surf the Web! allnurses.com has been the leading online nursing community since 1996 and is happy to celebrate their 10-year anniversary this month.

Nursing is stressful and at allnurses.com, nurses can kick back, relax and share their thoughts and wisdom in a safe and well-moderated environment. They can join in, or simply surf a variety of postings in various forums and escape from the daily dramas of their jobs.

"I started the site as a hobby while I was a nursing student, and 10 years later, over 500,000 people visit each month," Brian Short, RN said. "It's wonderful to offer my peers and colleagues a place where they can come to network with other nurses and have some fun in the process."

Mostly, allnurses.com is a gathering place for nurses who are committed to their jobs and love what they do. There are also several forums for nursing students to network and seek advice from experienced nurses.

"Nursing shortage?" asked Short. "Not at allnurses.com"

Currently, the online community boasts over l35,000 members from around-the-world. Over 400 nursing topics are discussed everyday and range from the serious to the sublime; 300 new members register daily.

Access to allnurses.com is free. Registered members can share thoughts and ideas while accessing information on nursing schools, jobs, and much, much more. An optional premium membership is available at a nominal cost and grants members a host of upgraded services.

"The thing that I like best," one satisfied user, said, "is the mentoring. The site supports the next generation of nurses, as well as us oldies."

Nurses can participate in over 200 nursing forums and browse from over 1.5 million posts. They can communicate privately with nurses from around the world; and network with nurses from every nursing specialty. It's a premier nursing destination.

"Lessons can be harvested from the lasting success of this online support and educational forum," Teresa Burgess, RN, said. "Shared purpose, trust, guidelines, humor, empathy, and storytelling create a cozy and inviting respite for road-weary nurses. The site has all the ingredients of a highly-functional online collaborative community of life-long learners and creates an inspiring, wisdom-filled, non-threatening environment for aspiring nurses."
