Oh, I thought you said "herring". Guess I need a herring aid.
Seriously I wonder about my neighbors who since retirement use a power mower almost daily.
Yesterday she was mowing the lawn while he used a power edger.
I is loud to me inside and across the street (trying to sleep after a night shift).
This concerns me, since I worked at an extremely noisy factory for 3 years, surrounded by loud machinery. Don't get me wrong, because I wore earplugs to minimize the exposure to the machine noise that blared at 98 decibels nonstop. Almost immediately after accepting this factory job in 2001, I developed continuous tinnitus (ringing in the ears) which has persisted to this day. It is personally hard for me to believe that I have lived with this constant buzzing in my ears for 7 long years without going insane.
I've been to an ENT physician and had my hearing checked several times since, but all hearing tests come back with results that are within normal limits. The doctor says there's nothing that can "cure" the tinnitus. Oh, good grief!
thanks for the ear link. it made me re-think that i should do something about my hearing problem because once in a while i would be woken up by a really loud ringing in my right ear---that's the worst case scenario since most of the time it's a ringing which i could handle by ignoring it. good thread. m
