Hospital says Neigh to Horse visitation

A Hawaiian hospital has restated its rules on pets after a man took a horse up in a lift in a bid to cheer up a sick relative with his favourite steed.

Man and beast were stopped by security guards only after reaching the third floor, after apparently passing through the lobby unchallenged.
The patient was allowed to see them but it turned out to be the wrong horse. A hospital spokeswoman said there was a visitation policy for dogs and cats, but not for horses.

I personally believe that we need more animal therapy in health care....

I believe that it's OK to bring in a nice LITTLE well behaved pet - but what if someone's favorite animal is an elephant.
Trying to bring a horse into a hospital? C'mon!! Who's going to clean up after it?

A friend was on her community placement as a pre registration student. She was in someones apartment and had to go to the kitchen for something or other. Opened the door and came face to face with ... a horse This is in a high rise block, they must have got it up there in the lift.

The children's hospital where I work has a pony named Petey who makes monthly visits to all of the floors and the kids just eat it up. We also have a volunteer doggie brigade. Even the adult pts we get in the burn center get a kick out of the animals!

My parents dog was a visitor to LTC. He went on facility picnics, lots of ear rubs. He retired after four years. But some of the residents still saw him out on walks and would wave out the window at them.

The nurses? Who else?

J/K, no I wouldn't do it either, but management would expect it.
Customer service, ya know.
