Hospital makes Fortune list of best employers

Published January 10, 2006

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS -- Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights was named Monday one of the 100 best employers in the United States by Fortune magazine.

The Jan. 23 issue of Fortune puts the hospital 50th on its list. "It means so much to me when people say they are thrilled to work here," Bruce K. Crowther, president and CEO of Northwest Community Healthcare said.

The hospital, which has nearly 3,100 employees, is one of eight health-care organizations to make this year's ranking and one of only three Illinois companies on the list. The other two are CDW Corp. in Vernon Hills and Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. in Chicago.

Hmm that is where both my sisters had babies. As patients, their reviews were so-so at best. Glad to hear employees are happy, however.

My employer( large hospital corporation) didn't even make the top 100.
It's not hard to figure out why-high turnover rate/management that makes up their own rules/ has the "potty patrol"--managers who will look for you if they feel like you are taking too long of a bathroom break.
