Florida Seeks Nurses for Preparations and Aftermath of Hurricane Frances

From ANA News: http://nursingworld.org/news/ananews.htm#frances

9/2/04
The Florida Nurses Association has announced that Florida will likely need out-of-state licensed nurses to provide relief for the staff at the hospitals and long term facilities, especially in the coastal areas. The Florida Board of Nursing has an expedited process for issuing temporary licensure in Florida but nurses will have to apply through approved agencies only. The state has a very comprehensive web site dedicated to disasters at www.disasterhelp.net/vflorida. This site will inform nurses on everything they need to know regarding how they can volunteer as well as information on licensure issues. Also, a toll-free hotline at 1-800-354-3571 has been established for health professionals
