I have found that their is much reverse racism in nursing. I have actually been accused of being racist for directing an employee whom I supervise on many occassions. I am caucasian and I have never owned a slave nor do I have any responsibility for what occured before I was even a thought in anyones mind. Slavery was abolished by a white President and I agree that slavery was a horrible and cruel practice.It is beyond time for a universal effort to stop using slavery as an excuse to behave in a manner that all people resent.We recognize that racism and prejudice is a factor for this perpetuating of hatred so let us all work to stop it . I don't believe that we as a society will survive as a whole if we do not begin building a foundation of peace and cohesiveness. Not all situations we dislike are due to color..there are simply people who are ignorant and they can be any race, sex, religion etc..ignorance does have any single source. Walk in Peace.

O.K. since we're now talking reverse racism, slavery, etc. all non-nursing topics that can be discussed in the Premium forums, and not about the discrepancy in pay between black and white nurses, we're going to give this thread a rest. We think that in 18 pages 171 posts, enough has been said about the topic.
