Judge backs California nurses over staffing

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger had no authority to suspend a new law requiring more nurses at California hospitals and emergency rooms, a judge has said, handing an early victory to some of the governor's most vocal critics.

V is for victory!!!

The hospital associations must be furious. They have spent tons of money trying to stop this and now.....Now they have to worry about nurses in the rest of the country demanding safe working conditions. What next? Fair compensation? Somebody stop them!

Not to downplay the good news, but that's only yesterday's tentative ruling. We're still awaiting final news from today's hearing. Keep your fingers crossed!

And then, of course, Schwartzeneggar will strap bandoliers on, grab a few grenades, and burst into the judge's chambers on a flaming motorcycle. The judge will change his ruling soon enough.

That is so funny! That says so succintly what he is. A bully w/o a brain. Do you suppose instead he will get HIS butt kicked?

When are we going to know? I am just sitting here on edge waiting to find out.

You should have seen the demonstration today in San Diego when he was trying to sell his pension reform. I just don't understand when he says we are "bleeding the State dry." What about the Hospital Associations bleeding the nurses dry, then throwing them away.

Oh yes, he was born in the same country as another nut was.

Thank you !

Austria is beautiful, as are most of her people.
America, too, is beautiful, as are most of her people.

Totally agree with you, Jnette. I was just trying to figure out what Austria had to do with anything. Last time I was there, it seemed to be a perfectly nice place.
