I thought it might be that kid too, but since he already did surgery wouldn't he already be n the guiness book? I also didn't think hs parents were docs...
This casts a whole new light on the practice of going out of the country for low cost surgeries!
Wow you got that right!
I just read this news article on the internet and was completely shocked. Do they have a lack of healthcare providers in India that would mean one would have to see this boy instead? His parents were right there with him so are they training him to become a surgeon? scary!
The desire for fame, fortune and professional immortality can make people do the stupidest things. Seems like the parents will become famous for a whole 'nother reason than they intended. And the way the kid has been set up for the last few years? Can you say "G-d Complex"?
Though the idea of allowing thier son to do such an act is utter ridculous even more distressing to me was that in the CNN Article that described this situation went on to say this .............
"Indians have long had a special fascination with world records, and reports of unlikely feats are staples in the Indian media. The underage surgery is not the first time that record-setting zeal has proved dangerous. Last year, a 4-year-old boy, Budhia Singh, attempted to run a 43-mile marathon in an attempt to earn a spot in a local record book. Doctors stopped him after 40 miles when he showed signs of extreme exhaustion. Afterward, they found the child to be undernourished, anemic and under cardiac stress. "
What was wrong with the MDs who knew of the race to even let him run any miles? My hope is that the parents who subject their children are not only medically/ethically disciplined but as well criminally held accountable.
