Red face Urgent Care Centers

Hi there.
I am new to this site, found it while doing some research. I worked in an ED for 14 years , now at our Urgent Care Center, would love to swap notes, ideas with others who work in a similar setting.

Re: Urgent Care Centers

Hi Zabelros, Hi Illinoisnurse!
I also work in Urgent Care. I haven't been there long but really like it. It's pretty big, 2 floors, and we use the computers for just about everything. Used for checking in, documentation of notes, medication orders, lab orders, all tests, even x-ray results are on the computer. Ask away... Would like to hear about your clinic as well. I've posted on another thread to Illinoisnurse on this subject too. Is there an Urgent Care thread under specialties? I couldn't find it. I posted a request to make Urgent Care a specialty thread to Adm. today. I'll keep checking.

Re: Urgent Care Centers

Hey there EllenRNPHN and all urgent care nurses!

Thanks for requesting a thread for our specialty!

I would like to know what other departments use for their ear irrigations. We have this big metal syringe that is probably kind of outdated and not the safest thing to use. Once the tip of the syringe flew off (probably because it wasn't screwed on properly) and hurt the patient's ear canal. We are doing an evidence-based project to find out the safest and most effective way to do ear irrigation. Any suggestions? What do you use?

Thanks for your feedback!
