Telephone Triage Nurse

Hi Everyone,
This is a new position for me,and I'm very excited to be moving forward in my career.I have also returned to college to finally try for my bachelors degree.
I see my only hold-up, at this time, is APA FORMAT,it is really a mind tingler.
I am trying,and I know I will succeed.Thanks for listening(-_-).

Congrats on the new position. Telephone Triage is a whole new world. I love it. Would love to work in it full time, but have not seen the opening yet. So work in telephone triage part time. Maybe some day.

The APA Format is just work. Hopefully you have the book for reference? Other than that, it is "jump through the hoops, you'll get what you want!"

Hi, I've never met anyone that did the telephone triage...looking for a change in my nursing career myself. Tell me about your job and some details of what your day is like at work....Good luck to you!

It's not at all what I expected. The questions to ask are prepared for you,the
clients' answers determines what type of care is needed-immediate/12-24h/
urgent, etc. Then you tell the patient what to do.The answers go directly into
a progress note, you can add more information if needed. You sign your note,
add cosigners(doctors/PAs,etc),follow-up when necessary,job done.Its a
very good learning tool!!!I am so glad I got this opportunity(even though,an on-the-job injury,got me here).It's a light duty assignment.Perhaps,if your
facility has one, they might let you try it.Regards,

HI Audreyfay,

I have the book and the cribsheet provided by instructors.I feel that I am jumping through hoops!!!! But it will all be worth it in the end.I hope to prove to myself, "You really can teach an old dog new tricks".(-_-) THANKS FOR
YOUR VOTE OF CONFIDENCE!!! The telephone triage can be a "hoot" at times
and I'm loving every minute of it.Hope you get to do it full time.
