Starting over and moving on

I am brand new to the boards as of this morning and I am soooo super proud to say that I was re-accepted into the nursing program at my school starting this fall!!! I had gone a couple years ago for one semester of pre-nursing and got my psychology, A&P I and Math in but didn't continue into the program. A lot of the reason was because I had a brand new baby girl but a lot of it was also because I felt constricted by my past.

Now, I have been able to move on and not let the past dictate how I feel or what I do any longer. I am 30 years old and I feel almost like a kid again starting my life over. I am finally doing what I want to do for ME and for my family. I have three children and I know this is going to be tough, but I also know that I have it in me to do it.

I am super grateful for the opportunity to go to school this fall, since I applied three weeks after the deadline and there is a waiting list of 60+ people to start in the fall. I feel like there is a reason that I was chosen and I am not going to give up.

I almost feel like a new person. I have been taking better care of myself and my family and I can feel like more than "just a mom" now.

Kim

How wonderful that you were chosen to get in after the deadline, seems it was meant to be!! :hatparty:

I am glad you were able to make some positive changes and are moving on towards a better life for you and your children! It will all be worth it in the end.

Thank you all!

This is such an important thing to me...to go on to realize my dreams and not only enrich my life, but make it so that my husband can retire at 62 and we can still have money for bills. When I married a man 17 years older than me and started having children, I didn't take into consideration the "losing myself" factor or any of the problems that can come with being married to someone older. So, now I am trying to prepare for our future and do what I want to do for a change.
