I've worked as an RN in a hospital setting for 30 years. My experience includes Staff RN, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager and finally, Nursing Educator.
Last year, we relocated to Washington DC and after a rough re-introduction to Staff Nursing, I decided it was time to move on. I've since discovered there are many opportunities out there for today's RN, yet I can't seem to decide on what direction to take. Anyway, I'm sure this forum will be a great way to ask questions and toss ideas around with other health care professionals.
Hi HB, I've been an RN for 23 yrs and would not want to go back to staff nurse on a med surg floor! I'm looking to change now, to ICU or CCU or ER. Currently I'm charge nurse on a geriatric psych unit that is more medical than anything- also get a lot of folks who just need placement. Hope you find your nitch out there.
