a short intro

Hi I've been lurking here forever but just decided i'd like to post once in awhile. I'm an LPN in Oklahoma, I am a single mom of a 10 year old AWESOME daughter, and I will be finishing the RN bridge program this next school year (taking a break this year). I am 29 and looking forward to starting the 30's off with a fresh new career and outlook on nursing!
My experience is 5 years of Psych and 7 years of hospital float (med/surg, ortho, postpartum, ICU, and bariatric). My favorite area is ICU and hope to move there full time when I graduate!!

This board is awesome and I would love to network/get to know other nurses outside of Oklahoma!!

Nurses Rock!

Thanks!!

I have varied, mostly because when I graduated I had NO CLUE where I wanted to be... so I became a float........ then because of the flexibility for school, I stayed floating!
I appreciate my job for letting me try so many different areas to decide what I liked and gain the confidence to do it.
The Psych experience was a fluke.... I just needed a weekend job so that I could be a stay at home mom when my daughter was young, so I took the job at a children's behavioral health hospital.
WOW what an eye-opening place that was. Definitely learned alot about both nursing and life there.

thanks for the welcome wagon!!
