NCLEX got the best of me : (

Hello all. I am so sad to introduce myslef with news that I failed the NCLEX exam. I was an honor student in nursing school, but that test got the best of me. I re-test in three weeks and I am sick about the stress. Any second-time testers have any advise? Thanks so much.

You need to focus on prioritizing, this is not taught in most nursing schools.
Also disaster traige and planning. NCLEX is not asking for patho-physiology like you had in school, they figure that you have had enough of that already and have graduated from nursing school. They are concerned that you know how to care for a patient and can place in priority what you need to do next.

Use one of the review books with the CD and do a section, then also review why the incorrect answers were wrong. This will help you figure how to answer the question, and you must also pay close attention to how the question is worded.

I recommend that the nurse do at least 100 of these questions per day, and do at least 3000 to 4000 before taking the exam.

Good luck........................

Thanks for the advice

Thanks suzanne. Your input is very much appreciated. You are correct as I did receive many prioritization questions on my exam; in which I was not prepared for. I am using a CD as well as a website with many practice questions. I will let you all know how I do in a few weeks. Thanks again.
