Cool ?'s about fields of nursing

Hello, I'm in pre- nursing about to be in the nursing program this coming spring of 05, I am working towards being a LPN but want to go all the way to getting my degree and going farther in nursing.I was hoping that I could get some insight on the different nursing fields out there. I'm undecided about what type of nursing that I wanted to pursue. I just wanted to know from those that have already experienced it first hand and what the pros and cons were. Example, like pediatric nurse, or ER nurse, anything. I would appreciate anything that you would have to offer. Thank You for your time in reading this and thank you if you respond.

I have worked in all sorts of fields (geriatrics, family practice but mostly peds) and have found that the pts in peds have a very bright outlook on life. No matter how sick they are, they can always find a smile. If you are considering pediatrics, you definately need to be a "kid person". Kids aren't always as cooperative as adult pts and they can tell if you aren't comfortable with them. Email me if you are interested in talking more about pediatrics.
