I will be getting my Associates Degree in Nursing very shortly, any advice on where to apply it first or some job titles to look in to. I was wanting to know what type of nurse could I be with this title, since it not like an RN or LVN, LPN etc.. Thanks in Advance for your help.

Hello and Welcome to Allnurses.com
I am a little confused by your question. If you are in an ASN/ADN program, you will graduate RN. So, is that what you wanted to know?

May I ask where you are going to school? I have never heard of an Associates Degree in Nursing without an RN? Thanks.

I'm really confused, too. Yes, you will graduate with an associate's degree in nursing. Then, after graduation, you will take your nursing boards and if you pass, you will be an RN. You really can't do anything with an associate's degree in nursing without becoming an RN.
I'm very concerned about any school that hasn't explained all of this to you.

I think since you will be getting your ADN very shortly you need to sit down with your instructors and/or DON and ask them this question.

Welcome!
I knew a girl who got an associate degree in nursing, but did not take the test to become an RN, simply because she had a past criminal record. I just hope you think about taking the exam and not waste your time. The only thing you can do it working as a CNA.
Good luck!

Tigerlily2020,
I, like others, are a little confused about your program of training and what it has prepared for you to do. Could you tell us WHAT program that you are completing? Is it a degree program in Medical/Nursing Assisting? Members are a little lost here in order to help you because they need more information about your program. Our board has RNs, LPNs, CNAs, MAs, et cetera. We just need to know where you fit in...in order to direct you better. Typically, an Associates degree in the field of Nursing prepares one to sit for the RN exam in order to become a RN...not anything else. Help us to help you....give us some better info so we can provide you the support you need.
