I'm a 36yrs old mother of 3 living in missouri. husband is disabled and children are getting older.
I started school when I was 38 for a bachelor's degree in Nursing Science. Today, I'm one semester away from my dream and I am 42. I got a good feeling about my future and that I will do great.
It is never too late. I waited until my daughter (only one) left home (married) and now it is my turn. There is a ton of help out there for you to go to school. On top of that, LPN are great help in the healthcare industry. Remember, we are in a nursing shortage. Not only will you expand your education, you will feel good about yourself once you accomplish this no matter how old you are.
One last thing, I started at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut feeling very, very old and like everyone else's grandma. Of course, this is until I found out that a 62 year old woman had just graduated with her law degree. This was from a security guard who was changing his career to Radiology. He has since, graduated on his 57th birthday.
You are not alone. Buck up! and grab the world by the textbooks.
I wish you the best!
