I read the post on 'life long dreams' and want to start out by saying how strongly I resonate with that!
I am an MD ( or used to be one in India) and did not work for a while as my first born had CP, and then had two more children in quick succession! Gradually went back to working part time when he was old enough to attend a special needs school.
However my boat was rocked once again by my immigration to the US (family move) over an year ago. My husband has a nice job, and my son goes to a great school, but I can no longer practice because of licensing requirements. It took a while to settle down but we have made a peaceful transition. All the kids are now doing well in school and I have time to spare now.
I joined this forum today because it seemed such a helpful place...and because I need a lot of guidance! I want to transition into an RN and work as a pediatric nurse someday, hopefully sooner than later. ( Iused to be a GP).
I wanted to know if its possible to transition from an international MD to an RN, and if I could possibly apply some educational credit to such a program? I would be very grateful for any pointers!
Thank you all for providing this great forum, and I sincerely hope I will find some friends here!
Best regards
Dolly
