Hello everyone! I'm new to the group and wanted to tell you a little about myself. I've been in nursing for nearly 30 years and currently work as a director in a large teaching hospital. I worked my way up through the ranks and enjoyed most every job I've had. My med-surg / critical care background was just what I needed as I started working as a supervisor and the supervisory experience was a good spring board for taking on challenging positions such as cardiology research and medical record reviews for malpractice attorneys. Now I find myself sitting at the administrative conference table juggling budgets, analyzing data and trying to keep my sanity. Even though some weeks are absolutely miserable from the stress standpoint, the good weeks far outweigh the bad and I can't think of anything else I'd rather do.
I'm hoping to brainstorm with other members on this site and I hope that my nursing pearls of wisdom might be of benefit to others.
