Smile Just wanted to say HI!

Hi everyone!!

Just signed up last night--My name is Kristy Trahan and I live near Lafayette, Louisiana (which is the heart of Cajun Country!). I am 33 years old, married with 2 boys, 14 and 8.

To be honest, I NEVER thought that I would be in the medical field--I don't like being stuck by needles--but over the years and with a little encouragement from my friend and Pastor-I entered a 9 month course as an Administrative Medical Assistant. Then the more I got into the program, the more I wanted to learn!! Thought I wanted to go into coding & billing but I wanted a change b/c before all of this medical training, my background was office related, sitting at a desk all day--BORING--

Also, one of the main reasons I decided to become a nurse is my youngest son-- at the age of 2 he was diagnosed with Stage 3 melanoma--He is currently 5 years into remission--in fact we just came back from St. Jude's in Memphis where he has "graduated" to After Care Treatment!! I just want to give back something that was given to us --HOPE--.

Because of our faith in GOD first and our trust in St. Jude's, Ryan has beaten this deadly cancer!! I only expect greatness for his life--maybe he will become a doctor?!

So while I am waiting to start school as a LPN at Lafayette General Medical Center in September, I hope to gain some interesting and helpful knowledge on this site!! I am so excited!! Can't wait!!

Please don't hesitate to reply with encouraging thoughts and helpful tips!!

Just like to point out this thread is nearly 3 years old and doesn't look like OP has been back to the site
