Talking International Student dreaming of Nursing

I'm a 29 yo brazilian going to the US to begin my second college (hopefully Nursing). I'm going to Brookhaven in Dallas, TX.
I intend to begin my pre-req courses sometime next year... (English Composition I, Human Anatomy & Physiology I, Introductory Chemistry I and Intro to Psychology)
I actually thought it would only take me two years to throw my hat in the air, but after reading many of the posts here I realized how tough competition is and I figured I'll finally have to study! (I used to be a B/C student, I wouldn't spend more than 1 or two hours studying begore tests, but this time I'll have to bust my butt! )
Thank you for your time and hope to read you soon!

Congratulations.

Yes, prenursing and nursing require lots of study and like you said...there is lots of competition out there so it is wise to do so.

Wishing you the best of luck in your studies and life.

Jessy

Giovana,
Why don't you consider EL Centro or Northlake. Then you would not have to take Chemistry and all the prereq's that go along with Chem. they require Algebra. You would also not need to go through an interview process. Norhthlake also has the accelerated courses and WIntermester courses that would help you get your prereqs faster. You might be able to start sooner.

Northlake is just a few miles away from Brookhaven. It is in a really nice part of Irving, Las Colinas, right next to the Four Seasons Hotel on Macarthur.

Brookahven is a good school though.

You know what? I might take a better look at Northlake. I was actually thinking of visiting both campuses (NL and BC) and talking to advisors to see which would fit me best, but you gave me some great alerts and might just take you advice! Thanks a lot!

I am originally from Europe and live in San Antonio, TX. Your English is very good, you'll do just fine! Good luck
