I'm glad to have joined allnurses.com!!!

Hello everyone , I am interested in joining the healthcare industry , but don't know where to start , so I am asking for suggestions . I would like to become an RN , but can't " pass " all the " algebra " lol , so i'm stuck there , no RN for me !!!!
What kind of nursing program is available , if any , without all the algebra courses ? Thank You. Elena

Elena,

Welcome to Allnurses! Can't answer your question specifically, but I know someone will be along soon who can. Good luck to you.

Welcome.

I'm sure you can become a CNA, I'm not sure about LPN.

Perhaps you should start with some remedial math courses and work your way up to Algerbra. Any good school has tutors. Many people have a fear of math, and all they need to do is conquer that fear.

Good luck.

YEAH , THANKS FOR THE IDEAS , BUT I'M NOT INTERESTED IN BECOMING A CNA . O , NOOOOOO. . . AND TIME FOR TUTORS I DON'T HAVE , MY KIDS WOULD BE " NEGLECTED " . IF I DON'T FIND A TRAINING PROGRAM FIT FOR ME IN THE HEALTHCARE FIELD , THEN I WILL PROBABLY JUST STICK TO RETAIL KIOSKS MANAGEMENT , WHICH I HAVE BEEN IN FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND LOVE " MOST OF THE TIME " .

Welcome to allnurses.com. If you reeeaaaly want to be a nurse, and Math is required, you gotta do what you gotta do. And if tutoring is what it takes.... And most schools (I know in my area, for one) do require student nurses to be CNA's befor starting the actual Nursing curriculum.

Perhaps you can start school when your kids are in school?

Re: I'm glad to have joined allnurses.com!!!

It Will Be Years Before My Kids Are In School ; I Have A One Year Old And A Two Year Old . I Would Like To Be A Nurse , Yeah , But For Personal Enjoyment Not For The " Salaries " . I Can't Believe How Low Nurses Are Paid . I Would Have To Totally Sacrifice My Career That I Have Now , Which Pays Me In The 50 ' S , To Spend Time On Tutors , Just So I Can Master All The Algebra Courses .it's Not An Option , I Have Too Much Going On , Plus I Travel Overseas Often Also .
My " Original Question " Was To Find Out If There Was A Program Available Without All The Algebra Courses , Not If I Should Or Not Invest Time In Tutors . I Already Knew That Whole Chapter . . .
