I just wanted to say "Hi".

I'm a new member, and I want to say I love this website. It's a support-link to help maintain my sanity in the stressful but rewarding job of nursing. I'm graduated from a university in Texas in Dec. 2003, so I'm fairly new to nursing. In the short amount of experience I have, I come to hate some of the aspects of nursing (some of the MD's, the extreme, almost-impossible nurse-patient ratio, the blame game that exist between nurses and the pay for what you put yourself through every shift is sad when you think about it) and love other aspects of nursing (the thank you and appreciation you receive from a patient or family member, the lack of monotony (with each new day you not quite sure what you will get), the endless opportunities that exist for us, and job security). All in all for me the bad outweighs the good, and I think I'll be in the profession for the long haul.

Hi Yvette! Sounds like you've got things in perspective. I loose that perspective sometimes and it has helped me tremendously to come here and talk about it. Welcome.

That goodness THAT still exists. I can almost put up with anything, but not monotony. That'd drive me nuts!
