Hi Miggy:

Well, the exam you need to take after you graduate from LPN school is the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses).
If you graduate from an RN program you take the NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses).

If you need more info on these exams go to: www.ncsbn.org

Good Luck!

Miggy,
You will be unable to work in the US as an LPN. You need to have an RN in order to be sponsored for a green card. I would highly recommend that you go for the RN, as they are being fast-tracked for green cards in the US, if that is where you really wish to work. Your only chance of working in the US as an LPN is if you marry an American, or marry someone that already has a green card.

Canada is also going to be the same for you. Many of the provinces are actually going to be requiring for you to have a BSN to be permitted to practice there.

Taking the exams as listed by the other poster should be the furthest thing from your mind right now. There are many other steps to be accomplished beforehand.

You will need to complete a full set of English exams, with skills in speaking equivalent to those of a native speaker. You may want to concentrate on that right now.

Hope that this helps and good luck with your studies..............

Hi Suzanne4, Thanks For Replaying To My Question! What Do You Think I Should Do Right Now? I Was Only Preparing To Become An Lpn Here In Panama, I Was Thinking To Go Back To The Usa & Go To The Same College I Went B4 To Complete My Rn Degree, Of Course I Will Need To Work In Order For Me To Pay 4 School.. I Don't Know, But I Am Positive About This, I Am Going To Do What It Takes In Order For Me To Get To The Usa & Work There, I Am Working Hard Right Now & As Soon As I Can Apply For My Visa To Go Back I Will. I Hope I Get To Acomplish My Goals, Wish Me Luck.

I Have Some Friends There In The Nursing Business Who Have Offered Their Help To Get Me A Job, I Dont Know If This Is Going To Be As Easy As They Have Said It Will Be, But I Will Work Hard For It.

Do You Know About Any Good Books That Could Help Me Increase My Medical Vocabulary? I Want To Order Some Books Through The Internet, But I Am Afraid About Putting My Credit Card# On The Web. Well, Anyways, If You Know About Any Books, Let Me Know.

Well, Thanks Again For Replaying, Have A Nice One!!!!!
